Designed to understand how pirates and corsairs could siege Cartagena by sea and land and why the fortresses, bastions and walls were strategically built in certain places.
What´s included:
o The tour starts by the modern part of Cartagena (Bocagrande, Laguito and Castillogrande) to identify the southern entrance of the city by the bay
o Then it continues to the Fortress of San Sebastian del Pastelillo in the Island of Manga.
o After we visit San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, which is considered the most important fortification in South America, built to protect the city by the east side.
o Then the tour heads to the walled city. We take a walking tour, visiting the main bastions and walls.
o Duration: At least 4 hours
o Days: Monday through Sunday twice a day at 8 AM and 3PM
